Installing Correct Minecraft Version

Use the Minecraft Launcher to install the same Java Edition version as the server:

  1. Open the Minecraft Launcher.
  2. Sign in with your Minecraft account.
  3. Select Minecraft: Java Edition.
  4. Select Installations.
  5. Select New Installation.
  6. Choose the server version from the Version menu.
  7. Optionally name the installation something recognizable.
  8. Select Create.
  9. Return to Play and choose that installation before joining the server.

If the Multiplayer screen says the server is running a different version, create or edit the installation to match the version shown there.

Connecting to the So Many Doors Minecraft Server

  1. Open Minecraft: Java Edition.
  2. Go to Multiplayer.
  3. Select Add Server.
  4. Enter minecraft.somanydoors.ca as the server address.
  5. Join the server.

The first join attempt may reject you with a Discord linking message. That is expected. The message includes a short code used to connect your Minecraft account to your Discord account.

Linking Your Discord Account

  1. Copy the code shown in the Minecraft disconnect message.
  2. Open Discord.
  3. Find the DiscordSRV bot in the So Many Doors Discord server.
  4. Send the bot a direct message containing only the code.
  5. Wait for the bot to confirm the link.
  6. Rejoin minecraft.somanydoors.ca.

After linking, the server remembers the connection between your Minecraft account and Discord account. You should not need to link again unless the accounts are unlinked or the server link data is reset.
